We are a Chester-based non franchise performing arts academy that works towards educating and training the next generation of artists.

Majestic Academy of Performing Arts offers inspiring, fun yet challenging training in all aspects of performing arts. This includes, but not limited to; improvisation, acting, script work, play production, filming, presentation skills, musical theatre production, ballet, solo singing, group singing, street dance, commercial jazz dance, contemporary dance, showcases, audition technique and vocal coaching. Taught by a team of experienced industry professionals, young performers will work on producing full-scale productions and shows with a performance at the end of each term.

Those who are part of the academy also have the opportunity to be scouted by Majestic International. MI is hugely successful for its model and casting agency through which many of our talent have gone on to win major West End, Film & TV roles. All our classes are fun and friendly, and we will celebrate each pupils’ individuality with REGULAR performance opportunities and showcases.

Although performance art makes valuable cultural contributions and enriches people’s lives across the globe, the path to a career in the industry is not easy.
That’s why we take our commitment to making performance art education affordable and accessible so seriously. Our experienced, award-winning instructors and dedicated support staff combine a progressive mix of applied study, leadership development, and professional outreach to help students understand their craft, unlock their full potential and prepare themselves for a career in the arts.

Using an intense, but supportive, style, we take pride in pushing students to the limits of their capabilities, while also helping them fine-tune the practical skills needed to thrive in today’s competitive job market and their day to day life.

Our Team of Industry Professionals

Joanne Saunders

Principal of Majestic Academy of Performing Arts & Founder of Majestic International Model & Casting Agency.

Joanne has a whopping 22 years industry experience, having been an actress in both TV and stage working for Andrew Lloyd Webber and Joop Van De Ende just to name a few. Joanne has an in depth knowledge of the entertainment industry thanks to training at stage school which led to ventures into children’s entertainment, acting, modelling, TV/radio presenting, journalism and many other business endeavours.

Originating from the North West, Joanne’s work has taken her across the globe. With transcontinental contacts Joanne ensures the sophistication and originality of every project undertaken by Majestic whilst striving to ensure that these ventures gain all of the exposure and media coverage, which they deserve. Joanne’s expert knowledge, calibre, determination and incredible ability to work with a wide range of people all ensure success; this is shown through Majestic Models and Casting’s large and diverse clientele and now the amazing expansion of Majestic Academy of Performing Arts. Whatever the size, Joanne is committed to ensuring that every job is a success.

Alisyn Christensen

Drama & Musical Theatre Coach, Music Teacher

Alisyn has always been involved in the performing arts. Since she could stand, she’s been singing in choirs, performing on stage, and playing instruments. While Alisyn’s experience lies in instrumental performance and musical theatre, performing and teaching has always had a special place in her heart.
 
She attended Luther College (Decorah, IA, USA), where she studied Music Performance and Music Education and earned a B.A. in 2010. After graduation, she started teaching primary general music education, and helping with the schools’ musical productions. After three years, she began studying for her M.A. in Orchestral Conducting at Central Washington University (Ellensburg, WA, USA) and graduated in 2015.
Upon moving back to Tacoma, she put all of her knowledge and education to use and began working for youth theatre and music programs. The Tacoma Youth Symphony Association allowed her to work with instrumentalists and orchestras, and Tacoma Musical Playhouse and Tacoma Little Theatre let her work with young actors on stage. She has directed and musically directed a number of youth productions in the Puget Sound area, including Seussical, Peter Pan Jr., Jungle Book Kids, Robin Hood, and several virtual productions when in lockdown.
 
She recently moved to Liverpool, and is loving working with our wonderful students of the Majestic Academy of the Performing Arts along with Majestic’s Mission.

Rhys Hayes

Dance Coach

Rhys Hayes was born in Chester. He trained at BodyWork Company in Cambridge graduating In 2013
as Head Boy.

Since then he has performed in many areas of the industry such
as stage, tv and cruise line.

His credits include: Netflix movie ‘Molly Moon And The Book Of Hypnotism’ Working with Antony Van Laast, West end Show ‘What happened to La La Shockette, Adverts, Modelling and Corporate dance events for JD Sports, Nike, Regatta, Jack Jones, Topman, River Island, CarFest North and more.

 

He also performed on Cruiseship P&O Australia on Pacific Dawn and Pacific Jewel. 

 

Rhys sadly had a major knee injury where performing became
limited, so he began teaching, choreographing and judging all across the UK.

Skye teaches Commercial. Lyrical and Musical Theatre. Skye is all round performer and performs regularly, most recently played Snow White in a touring production. 

Hannah Williams

Hannah Williams

Dance Coach

Meet Hannah, Hannah teaches street/commercial, lyrical, musical theatre and company dance classes at MAPA.

 

Hannah’s background is a budding performer and creative originally from Penmaenmawr, North Wales but now lives in Chester after graduating with a first class bachelor’s degree in Musical Theatre Performance from The Hammond School.

 

Alongside her own training following the ISTD and RAD exam boards to Advanced 2 level, Hannah has always had a passion for teaching and began choreographing for her childhood dance school. Hannah strives to inspire and nurture young people and loves to ensure every child, no matter their background or ability, walks away from every session feeling recognised. She hopes they gain transferable skills and memories they can cherish, no matter their career ambition.

Heather Muir

Dance Coach

Heather teaches Hip Hop, Breakdancing, Commercial, Locking and so much more. Heather was born on the Wirral and went to University of Chester!

Heather has danced since she was 8 years old and has opportunities to workshop and perform with a range of talents including Diversity , Twist and Pulse and west end choreographers to name a few!!

Heather won 2nd in U16 Advanced at UDO worlds 2015 which hosts over 20 countries, which is my biggest achievement in her dance life!

Heather was also team captain and hip-hop choreographer for Chester Dance Society for 3 years and was a huge success in competing in competitions.

Louise Topley

Administrator and Chaparone

Louise is our super all round team player. Louise has worked with Majestic since 2018 and works both within our Talent Agency and MAPA (the academy) and has experience is keeping our office in check and booking our talent both auditions and secured jobs in theatre, Film & TV. Louise is also our liven  chaperone to our children when needed on travel days out and or performances.

 

Louise is delighted to be teamed up with Joanne and the rest of the team and does her very best to ensure that all the children involved within both the agency and the academy have a fabulous, and safe, experience.

Richard Topley

Stage Manager and Set Builder

Richard is our stage manager, who facilitates communication across all creative and technical departments within our agency and academy. Richard is our right hand man and oversees sets and props. Richard also helps with the maintenance of the academy.

Cat Hanson

Saxophonist | Tutor | Arranger

Having grown up in a brass banding family, Cat has been surrounded by music all of her life. After years of playing in brass bands on various instruments (Tenor Horn, Cornet, and Tuned Percussion to name a few!), she ended up trying out her friend’s Saxophone and instantly fell in love. From there, she taught herself the basics, played in her local music centre and ended up progressing all the way to the prestigious Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester. Cat graduated in 2017 with a Bachelor of Music with Honours.


Since graduating from the RNCM, Cat works as a gigging musician, tutor, arranger and also as a band consultant for the Blue Lion Band. Over the years, she has performed at many famous locations with various chamber ensembles, such as the Birmingham Symphony Hall, St. Martin-In-The-Fields (London) and the Royal Albert Hall (London).

Vocal Coach to Teens & Adults

Jon Christos is an Internationally acclaimed singer, award winning recording artist and TV vocal coach, not to mention Jon is TV & Radio presenter and a member of the Professorial Staff – Vocal Studies at the Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music and Dance.

Jon is best known for albums of operatically-styled crossover music. Jon is an acclaimed vocal consultant and singing coach with 40 years’ experience.

As one of our amazing tutors he will be offering 1-1 vocal coaching and piano lessons with MAPA for 14+.
